As the “hip” saying is today, “You gotta web 2.0″ has never been more true.  In my previous posts you’ll learn exactly what Web 2.0 is, so today I’m not going to go back over all of that, but in short, it means that its the social network, easy to read (and access), optimized way of developing and maintaining a website.

Today though many people don’t really realize how many potential customers and clients they are loosing because their site isn’t Web 2.0 or because their site is only “SEO” friendly and not human friendly.  read more

Between August 30th, 2010 and September 20th, 2010 we will be adding a privacy policy page to every client on our network that uses our content management system.  This is due to a policy change by both Google and Bing in which documents from these companies are indicating that in October of 2010 they will start lowering page weight and ranking on websites that do not possess a descriptive privacy policy.

The privacy policy we will be adding will be GNU licensed so it will be a free update for all clients across read more

We recently took on a client that was in desperate need of search engine ranking help.  As of now I will not mention their name due to privacy concerns but I want to share their situation, the mistake they made, how they could have avoided it, and the drastic measures we had to take in order to correct it.

Last week, Security Researcher Rafal Wojtczuk, of Invisible Things Lab detailed a security exploit that had been present in all Linux distributions since 2003 in this Large Memory Attacks (pdf) report. Over the past month we, and staff have been extremely busy on projects for our clients. During this time we have not updated any of our company websites and we do apologize for this. We try to be as punctual as possible with updates about the company and the latest happenings. However in the past month we have been working more than 18 (20+ hour) projects. This has occupied every sip of spare resources we have had available for updating websites and company profiles. Though we love to see the business, we do hate keeping our viewers in the dark as well.

We hope to at least be making a regular news post once per two weeks in the future.

MLW & Associates, would like to wish all fathers around the world a Happy Father’s Day.   In today’s day and age, it is all but too common for fathers to abandon a family; however it is those that stay, become life-long fathers and participate in showing our newer generations what it is to have the father figure in the family. Again to all our Dad’s, HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

On June 12th, 2010, Christopher Dawson reported on ZD-Net that Google had many law-suits piling up over a very serious privacy violation. What Google had done was about criminally equivalent as a “Peeping Tom”. Google uses their mobile street-cars to snap pictures around your area so you can use their “street view” on Google Maps. However what Google didn’t tell you is that they were taking a little bit longer if you had an unsecured wireless network because they hooked up to your network and started recording everything you did on it from your personal websites, bank sites, etc. There is no limit to what information Google potentially has on any individual at any point in time now. read more

Web 2.0 isn’t just a fad, it was a new method of sharing favorite information, and has grown to standards conformation, easy to use websites which has developed into a system that is now widely used across the net.  In fact, the larger companies IT staff would call one “Old-School” if they didn’t have their social networks linked into their website.  And they would be right.  We all have to remember that like a computer read more
