Google Privacy Issues & Mitigations

Goldsboro Web Development makes use of several google services to improve your experience that could impact your privacy.  Google does have some questionable privacy practices, but no evidence has been presented so far that suggests that Google has been irresponsible in handling your privacy.  However, you need to know that we do not have any control over how Google handles your information and remedies to prevent any potential misuse.

Google Analytics

This software gives Google non-PII information about our viewers so that we can understand how people are using our website so we can improve our page-flows and remove “Page Not Found” errors.  However, this is third party data collection and it is achieved by placing a script that loads from Google’s services into the header of our website.  Google could collect far more information than non-PII information so it is extremely important for you to read their privacy policy and opt out of any tracking they may have.

Google ReCAPTCHA

This software gives Google non-PII information about those trying to login to our website or post replies and submit forms.  Information they collect is necessary to determine whether or not you are a real human being or a computer program trying to break in. Again, being Google is a third party and Goldsboro Web Development has no control over how they use the information they collect, it is necessary for you to understand their privacy policy and opt out if necessary.

Google Fonts

Google JavaScripts

Google offers a large range of JavaScripts that help developers to create a website that is responsive and reactive to the user and improving the user’s experience while on the website.  These scripts are loaded into your browser on our website directly from Google.  This could allow google to collect additional behavior and non-PII information about you while you are navigating our website.

Google DART Cookie

While you are on our website, and because we use several Google libraries and services, Google can and has been known to use a DART cookie.  This cookie tracks your behavior across many other websites that use these services and allows Google to track your browsing behavior.  You CAN OPT OUT of this tracking.
